When an Algerian immigrant comes under suspicion by German authorities for involvement in terrorists activities, his entire world is put at risk. For his wife Margarete, devotion turns to doubt as a series of inconsistencies begin to wear at her subconscious, expertly fanned by occasional encounters with the police. The ambiguous clues weigh heavier on a family drawn to an inexorable conclusion. A taut, compelling analogy for the untenable situation in which many Muslims with long histories in nations beyond their homeland now find themselves.
