Arab Film Festival Homepage

Welcome to the 7th Annual Arab Film Festival

The Bay Area's 7th Annual Arab Film Festival is returning with a rich new program of films representative of the extraordinary spectrum of style, narrative, and cinematography that is uniquely Arab. Twenty-two countries make up the Arab world, creating a rich, complex cultural diversity of different dialects, religions, and traditions. The Arab Film Festival offers realistic portrayals of Arabs from Arabs themselves, countering those based on either racism or stereotypes. With the Palestine/Israel conflict and Iraq a major topic in current affairs, this year's festival and its message prove to be more significant than ever. This mindful collection of films is an attempt to dispel the negative imagery associated with the region and share the lives of people who are most effected by todays events.
