During the festival of ASHURA, days of sharing and charity, it is a tradition to play percussions throughout Morocco for ten days. From the initiation of the children to the sacred rhythms of the brotherhood, WITH DRUMS BEATING seizes, through three big steps - Marrakech, Essaouira, and Casablanca, the playful and committed spirit of this festival.

The film portrays the skilful playing of the drummers of the DEQQA of Marrakech and Taroudant, the rhythms of the ecstatic dances of the Essaouira's HMADCHA brotherhood, and the percussionist women of the plains of the Chaouia.
